5 Tips For The Dooziest Fire

Nothing beats campfires 🔥 So now that it’s well and truly Winter!! Here are some of our doozy tips for creating the best fire!

1. BED.
We all know how important a comfortable bed is… so before building your fire bed - always choose an area that’s either in a designated fire area, a raised fire pit or choose a spot well away from any fire hazards and flammable objects.

2. DRY!! It’s the only time being dry is a good thing. 🤣 When it comes to adding your kindling, wood and tinder- make sure they’re completely bone dry or close to it. This will ensure your fire has the best chance of ignition.

3. OXYGEN. Your fire’s best Friend is oxygen and plenty of it. Make sure there’s plenty of air coming from below and around you’re fire - which will help sustain any flames you have going!

4. Time to get WET. Once you’re off to bed, leaving your campsite…. Or in the case your fire gets out of hand - it’s super important you have a water source or bucket to kill your fire. This is not only good practice, it’s vital for the safety of yourselves and others around you.

5. Welders GLOVES. Us doozy nomads are suckers for big fires and campfire cooking… so having a pair of thick insulated welders gloves on hand to handle any hot cast iron or rearranging/placing logs… will help protect your hands and make it easier to manhandle your fire. *word of warning, you can still get burnt wearing welders gloves so use common sense ✌🏼

Ps. Please always check your local guidelines on fires. Look out for fire bans, or if fires aren’t allowed… it’s always for a good reason. Be safe!! Don’t forget the marshmallows and get doozy with your next winter fire!!
