If you’re looking for a cute getaway, you’ve stumbled across Barrington Top’s best-kept secret! Valerie The Vintage Van is a gorgeous 1960s caravan retrofitted to accommodate all of your retro glamping needs. Situated on private acreage, you’ll find yourself in a secluded oasis amongst a forest of native casuarinas with stunning views of the Barrington River.

Being completely off-grid means you can disconnect from the outside world and connect with nature. During our stay, we took full advantage of our surroundings and explored everything the property had to offer! From exploring the Barrington river that runs through the property to basking under the night sky and toasting marshmallows on the open firepit.

Amenities.
Valerie is well equipped with a cute kitchenette and booth-style seating - perfect for a cozy night in. We absolutely loved using all of the retro crockery - which really transported us back into the 60s. Valerie sleeps 2 comfortably, with plenty of warm blankets for the cooler months. There’s also an external bathroom fitted with a modern composting toilet and shower with the most luxurious waterfall shower head. Exactly what you need after a full day of adventures.

Food.
Gloucester is one of the closest towns to Barrington Tops (35min drive). Due to distance we stocked up on essentials at the Gloucester Woolies and bought all of our meals for both nights. Valerie has a mini-fridge, so this made it easy to store all of our groceries.

Stroud

After accidentally missing a turnoff, we ended up in the Historic town of Stroud. Despite being a very sleepy town, Stroud is incredibly picturesque. Known for its convict-era buildings - it really takes you back in time to life in the 1830s. Whilst there we popped into Crafty Friends - a quaint co-op dedicated to gorgeous hand-made crafts and vintage nicknacks. The ladies are just wonderful, and a perfect spot to pick up a special treat! Ps. be sure to say hi to the gorgeous Libby - we were lucky enough to meet Libby and were blown away by her designs.

Stroud Show:
If you’re travelling over Easter be sure to check out the
Stroud Show. Held over 3 days, you’ll find rodeos, barrel racing, chainsaw competitions, wife carry, kids rides, show jumping and more. Tickets are $20 each for adults and kids $POA.
